Hi All,

Was given a Pioneer P40 today. Good compression, good spark, etc. However, I noticed that the chain goes from slack to tight while moving it around the bar. Pulled the clutch cover off and the clutch and drum has a nice wooble when the engine is turned over. Looks like the crank is bent on the clutch side. What would have caused this? Can it be straightened/trued up? How would one go about doing that if it is possible?

Thanks Mike

1. check to see that it is not the clutch unit or a bearing in it 2. pull it and dial indicate the crank yes chainsaws do bend cranks but it is some what rare the jonsered 621 is one of the few that i can think of that did it regularly.:yoyo:
