One step in the right direction is to never use Stihl oil.

We had a quart of this stuff go bad, so I'm using it right now....working pretty good.

We have high heat sunflower oil.. added bonus is it's organic for the health of your saw!

Stihl puts it in writing when they give their oil a rating of "FB", which is a lower rating than "FD".Can I get this in writing?
Here's the writing......
I know it's an old label, but that is still the current rating.
Thanks Jim, I see that label every time I use a Stihl bottle to measure 4 oz of K2.

There are a lot of factors in this answer ,brand of oil ,viscosity ,engine size,load created etc .
