I have a couple of nice Walnut logs that I would like to rip with my Husky 455. I know that the saw is a little underpowered, but I would like to try my hand at ripping them. What is the best ripping chain to use for a saw like this? The logs are only about 18 -20" in diameter. Thanks!

I don’t mill logs so I cant help you but there is a Milling and Saw Mill section on this forum a few places upstream. Try your post in that section to see if someone can give you some better advice about milling chains.

They have a special skip tooth chain designed for ripping. I know for sure that Baileysonline carries it. A normal chain will do it as well but that is more dangerous because of kickback. If you try it be carefull.!!
