Yes, at least with the Alaskan taking the clamping and bar overhang into account. Especially if you leave the dogs on the saw.

Thanks. That is good for me to know. Don't have a mill yet (or a big saw). Want to learn something before I take the plunge.
The largest logs we can get on our property are likely 24" so I won't run into this problem anyway. 5' logs are massive.:greenchainsaw:

and not just possible but a 42" bar is required to max out the 36" mill to 35", and that is w/ turning one of the mounts backwards. otherwise its 34".
