Hello, I'm new to this forum. About 3 months ago, I planted a bloodgood JM about 3 feet from the corner of my house. The intention was to plant it close because I liked how it looked with the rest of the landscaping, but wondering if I planted it to close or if I prune yearly if it will be ok. If I do have to transplant it...is moving it an additinal 3-4 feet ok or is that putting that tree at risk of harm. I'm in upstate NY if that helps. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. I've attached a photo as well. Thanks -Adam

I'd agree. This plant grows far larger than you will want that close to the house.

Wait 'til it goes dormant for the fall, then transplant it to a location where it won't be stunted by pruning efforts to keep it off of the structure. Be sure to water it over the winter and well into the next year. So many folks don't realize a transplanted tree needs water even when it is dormant.
