Greetings and salutations fellow board members,

Happy spring and I hope the weather is calm where you are.

I was curious to see if any of you have the new Harmon coal and wood boiler with or without the atmosperic pressure water system?

I am examining the replacement of an old boiler wih low water volume with a larger volume Harmon using the atmosperic water tank system as my boiler is 28 years old.

I would rather do it with an ounce of prevention in mind as the passive atmosperic expansion tanks system is always simpler.

Thanks much in advance.

I have a Harmon sf 260 wood coal boiler installed it October 2010 Happy with it so far. I have burned wood and bit coal in it. I do not have any type of water storage system. It is plumbed directly into my Utica boiler in the basement .

Harmon Boilers

Thanks much for the reply oldcountry54,

The City of Utica, home of the boiler you own
is 2 hours away from me by car.

I have a 22 year old Buderus fuel oil fired
boiler as well and its still good according
to the boiler servicing folks and has an
efficiency rating of 87 percent when it
was serviced last.

The last thing I want to have happen is
the old wood boiler to fail in the middle
of a snow storm So thats why I am
asking early.
