i like both.
for off roading the 22re is superior because of fuel injection.i have had good luck with the Webers on the 22r if you get the float level right.
my 85 pick up is stock dailey driver with the weber since it's now exempt from AlGore's sniffer.
my 884runner is the 22RE. i like them both.
the stock turbos were known to crack.i personally hate the turbos for off roading.spooling up is useless for rock crawling.
i have been thinking of building and early nineties 2wd pick up with a 7MGTE.
i also thought of putting a 7MGE in my 4runner but i just built a nasty 22RE so it will not
be any time soon.
