Carburetor tuning question.

This may be a really dumb question but when tuning a saw, do you take the bar & chain off or leave them on?

Seems to make sense to me to leave them on but the comment in step 8 on the Madsens site "....maximum RPM setting for popular pro saws without bar & chain" has me wondering.

Hi Rusty
Other than your reference to that Madsen`s page, I have never heard nor seen any suggestion to tune for max rpm without a bar and chain.
