I have a STIHL 019T and would like to know what is the best tension to have on the chain. I have been told by people that I am running it to tight.

Have bar cover nuts loose, lift up on bar nose, tighten chain till it just touches bottom of bar.Tighten you nuts!New chain will stretch pretty fast so watch it.Do same procedure again.

From IN, stationed in Port Angeles, WA, but AK is
"No sag, no drag."

You don't want any slop in the chain hanging at all loose from the bar, but the same time, you don't it so tight that the chain tension creates drag around the bar.

You could also pluck the chain at mid bar, and you should just be able to see your drivers, but no much more than that.
