When my grandfather passed away, we planted a cherry blossom tree in my grandmother's front yard. This was his favorite tree. In the past it has blossomed very well. In the past 2 years I have seen it start to die, and I want to help with it, because it is very sad for my grandmother to look out and have it remind her of her late husband. I tried using bone meal last year and it worked a little bit, but it still looks sad. I did notice some new branches on it this year, so there is hope! If you have any ideas on how to save the tree, it would be great!

You could try mulching the root zone. This is more important than most people realize, as it is so out of fashion. An application of mulch can have immediate and long term effects. Good luck.
