Does anyone know how thick the plating is on cylinders?

Are you sure it really is plating? At one time I read about a process that kind of exploded a wire in the center and the fragments embedded into the aluminum cylinder. Then that was finished with diamond tools.

OK, I have no idea. I thought it was all electroplating. So...how thick is it? Someone must know.

What I described is the electrofusion in the article Brad linked. I have a 2014 motorcycle that claimed to have a ceramic cylinder, the wear surface, but now the same model claims plated.
