I had got this Pioneer/Partner 400 a little while ago from a friend. I want to get going on cleaning it up and want to replace the sprocket with a rim kit. If you look up a 400 on Oregon's website which is only listed under Partner and not Pioneer and there is no Pioneer/Partner listing it says to use 35641X. Now there is a P400 listing and that uses a 29175X. Both use the same sprocket brg and both use the same .325-7 rim. Which sprocket is the right one? Here is a pic of the serial # plate and decal on the side.

I dont know much about the Partner 400 but it should make no difference if it says Pioneer/Partner on it either.

According to my 2-3 year old Oregon catalog, the 29175X should be the one you need. It also fits the Partner 500, 5000, 545, 5100, 540, 543, 5500, Poulan Pro 325, Jonsered 490,590, Husqvarna 50, 51, 55 and 154.

Hope that helps...

The saw is a Partner 400, the Pioneer part of the name just happened in North America for a while. The saws were either Pioneer or Partner, no cooperation in engineering or production.

None of those models are the same basic design as the Partner P400?

i would cross check with the Husky 45, 49 and Jonsered 2041, 2045, 2050 or Partner 410, 460, 490, 510. The Husky 40 was maybe the closest in time, but then there are two different Husky 40s out there - this is about the latest plastic cased one, not the one from the late 1970s.....

I had the same thought but was just listing the models with the same part number in the Oregon catalog listings.

If thats wrong it would not be the first time I have seen a mistake in there listings. To this day they still list a Poulan 306SA in with the saws that use a certain K041 mount bar that will for sure not work on a 306SA.

"EDIT" Update, I did a quick check on a couple of IPL's and my 400 IPL only shows a spur sprocket but it dose list the same part number as a couple early 500 etc IPLs that list a spur, so apparantly the 400 will use the same sprocket as the ones that I listed.
