cooking in the fireplace

does anybody else cook in there fireplace? I made a stand that fits over the grate in my fireplace to grille on. just cooked sirlion steaks over hickory in my living room sure beats standing in the cold cooking on the gas grille!

That is true!! Hardwood floors though. I did let the kids roast Hot Dogs one time. They loved it and keep asking me to do it again. We will some time soon.

Beans on the woodstove, to go with some chicken I was smoking on the grill.

Haven't done steaks, but I think there is something about steaks cooked over a wood fire that is tuff to beat.
