I wonder how many BTUs the ceramic and steel ads to your OWB?
Those poles sure look like they've been up for a while.
Actually we had Hydro One put new poles up here a couple years ago and when the new poles were laying on the ground I had a good look at some and they all had tags on them stating that they were Douglas Fir from the west coast.
I thought that was pretty neat, but I love my wood...lol
 
They are really old poles, came for the local town upgrading their system. No creosote in them, apparently they were cut out a the local bush. They weren't real tall. I burnt some of them with the hardware on and then I thought I would try to see if I could remove them. Heavy galvanized bolts, almost came off in my hands. I was surprised how easily they turned, just like new. I keep them, piled under a bench somewhere never to be seen again. Lets just say they heated better than that other soaking wet green crap in the picture.
