Craftsman Roper Series 917 Coils

Coils for these saws, whether points ignition or solid state are few and far between. I am still in the hunt for either type. The numbers on the points compatible coil is Prestolite X16825E.

Also is it possible to save the mounting metal (that which picks up the pulse from the flywheel) and remove it from a bad coil and insert it in a good primary and secondary unit.

Like a Roper 3.7 model? 917 means it was made by roper for sears, should be a period followed by a few more numbers.
