Yes. Notched cranks are sometimes called Turbo Cranks. They are an experimental area with a lot BS and false claims, but some power
gains have been documented. “Full Circle” cranks are pretty common. Many 5-series huskies have a “full circle” and there have been many other saws along the way with “stuffers” or crank cups that take up space in the crank case. Another advanced modification on cranks is adding stroke length by welding or re-pressing the crank assembly, or often fitting a crank from a different saw. This allows larger displacement cylinders to be used and also tends to increase torque.
