Crappy design ???

My new air filter will not snug up with both intake holes simultaneously ??? Am I missing something ??? RedMax gz3500t. I think that this is the same as a Husqvarna T435 ??? I know they merged.

Is it an OEM filter? Lots of aftermarket filters out there.
