The original filters wash out real well and are reusable for a lifetime. I clean mine with varsol to start and then wash with hot soapy water and they cleanup fine.Put it through the dishwasher it will do fine. LOL Pioneerguy600
Here's the video I promised. I don't have any big wood to put it in, so this'll have to do. I checked the RPMs back in the garage and it's set to 7500 RPM. You can hear it try to clean out on the last cut and then go back to 4-stroking. It should be close there.

Dang! Sounds great! Now I can't wait to get back into mine. Do you know if the piston has a cut out on the intake side or how many reed valves you have?
Try it the first way, if it doesn't float your boat, paint it.I should take a pic with the chain next to a .404. There's no comparison. Good luck on your project.
OK. One more time. Oil down the bare metal where I removed rust, or paint it up nice an pretty?
Mow your yard man.. To much time playing with old relics.. LOL I would just leave it alone oil it up or spray it with a liberal coating of wd40/
He's letting the grass get tall enough to where he needs the saw to cut it.
