I built a new shed for my firewood today, cut up some logs with my ms170, split it, and stacked it. I am really enjoying my new Stihl chainsaw.

I don't like my job as a finance director. I sit at a desk all day. It pays very good, but I would rather be a chainsaw operator in the pacific northwest. What are job opportunities like? What is pay like in Oregon, washington, BC? How can I get training and experience? Who are the big employers of operators? Give me the straight dope on a new career.

Pictures - Cuz it happened.

how old are you?

You're better off starting with a local firewood hack outfit nearest you on weekends for some real world experience or even take some vacation for a few week on your day job and go experience it for a few weeks. Most jobs are not like Axe Men BTW. Go get dirty banged up worn down worn out beat up smacked up cussed at spit at cut up sctatched up sweat in you eyes wood chips in your eyes splinters under your nails blocks of wood dropped on your toes hit your head hit you shins hit your elbow bloody lip bloody nose stung by bees bitten by ants mosquiteos and deer flies get poison ivy poison oak reach near heat exaustion... then consider leaving your day job.

Again, I am veteran, this is child's play.
