We regularly mulch our perennial garden and other gardens with the chips from our dead pines/spruces etc. Are there any diseases that can be transmitted that way? All of the plants seem to be doing fine over the years.

Thanks,

Some fungal plant pathogens can persist as inoculum in fresh, uncomposted woodchips/mulch.

If the mulch is sourced from plant tissue with certain diseases, then the risk of spreading is there.

Still the benefits of proper mulching outweigh not mulching, but I have sent more than a few trees straight to the burn pile or the dump rather than the mulch pile.
