Hi,
just come across an interesting new publication called "Basic Decay Detecting Manual for Trees & Timber Structures" - looks good.
it is on www.wooddecaydetectionmanual.com
Does anyone know anything about it ?

I sent away for details. the ad linked says: "The Resistograph is precise fast, and non-invasive - causing minimal injury to the tree." I had questions about this--

1. its precision in detecting decay is all according to the knowledge and experience of the user,

2. It is invasive. Much is made of this by the tomograph folks; I asked a prof from U Melbourne about her statement that resistographs can spread rot. she referred to schwarze's decay text, in which i found no data on this. But still, an infection court is an infection court...

We'll see how much this manual is based on that machine's use.
