thanks guys

yeah doug fir we call it red fir in idaho. i love the saws coverd in red dust

Very nice Evan, just bought a completely rebuilt and ported 066 two days ago and it's my new favorite. Makes short work of big wood, not much time at the stump. Looks like you had some fun with yours- Sam

That's some big quarters ya'll got cut up there. Down south, where I'm cutting we don't ever get much chance to work that kind of wood unless it dies on its own, or falls over on something after a storm.

Those quarters are as big as whole trees I usually work!

Great vids, nice saws. How do you like the wrap handles for that kinda work anyway? I bought a wrap for each 660 and 046 but have not tried them yet.

i love the wrap handles , i wouldnt have mine any other way.

wrap handle is very nice for felling. i butcherd the knock on this tree and redid wrap handle was handy as i was shaping the notch how i wanted it. almost made a vid of the felling but figured id save that for a few trees down the rd. shes a big one cutn both side with the 32" to fell it
even comes in handy when bucking on steep hill sides with my body all out of wack from the saw. this one wasnt bad though i did try to pull the hole tree down hill so i could buck it all in the rd. guess what my 8k cummins was just spinning out. i couldnt belive that i could pull the danged tree down hill

Evan... that was some of the best vids and pics of yours I have seen yet. I remember when you started posting you pics and vids on here awhile back.. I would cringe when I looked at them. I thought that one day you would be flattened by a tree...

...but I see you have learned a lot, and have become a good sawyer. I like the way you slowly worked your way up that spar when you limbed it. Thought out every cut... good job on buckin' too.

Thumbs up buddy... :)

Gary

That was some good vids man. You like the 660 huh? It makes work fun for me. Boss laughs at me cause I smile the whole time while I cut with it. I can't help it, smilin like a big dummy.

im realy liking the 066, it realy does buck big wood faster then 440. but the 440 does very well to even when bucking through knots. i used to try and buck around knocts but that was messing up my 16" lenghts so i just usualy go right through the knots now.
i was going to make a vid of the 440 and 066 wearing the 32" but i decided it wouldnt be worth it. i can tell the 066 is puln harder and the woods to knotty to realy compare anyways. though i may drop back down to 7pin on the 066 probly bring the 7 with me today well. its looking like the wife wants me to stay home today so it might be a few days before i go back but maybe swap to 7 after i do some cutting on the 8 and see how it feels.

Garry
thanks that means alot, youve taught me alot here. your one of the few reason ill stick around this place, lately theres more reason to leave then to stick around
feels good to be cutn again. its going to be a fun summer. though winter lasted so long that we kinda missed out on the cool spring time cutting and its jumped right to 90 on is.
its so green this year theres probly going to be a ton of fires and cutting might be stopped because of it but hopefully not

heres few more pics just because, i tooke alot of pics only got a few good ones

this pic probly is best. google prairie idaho, this is it

Good job!! Nice to be see the kind of wood available over there. I'm thinking that one tree would be a year's supply for me.

Nice pictures. Glad you finally got to use the 066 for something besides cookie cutting.

lol yeah i barely cut any cookies becaue my wood was all split and sold. looks like the 66 will earn her keep this year. honestly though it only cut like 15 rds because i had bucked the 440 till the wood got to tip then took the 66 after that and then the truck was loaded . in the vid the 066 is already cutn to the tip so the rest of the tree will be buckn from both sides. i might have the wife follw me and finish on the back side with 026. well i think ill go down hill with the 66 then she finish from the top side

split there might be 2.5 cords in this tree. maybe only 2

Man you live in a beautiful place! Never see anything that flat here.

Looks like you hammered the big tree! I love to get the oppurtunity to cut big wood. I've got some monster cherry to cut up this fall. It's wood we cleared from a fencerow that was prolly 50-60 yrs ols and some of it is up to 50".

I can't wait till hay season is over and it cools down. People ride me for not liking summer but I can't help it. Everything I love (hunting, football, woodcutting, cooler weather) happens in Autumn. I'm a fall guy! Way too hot to work here in Summer. It's been rough this year so far. Building fence in 96º weather!
