I live in East Tennessee and my dogwoods have what looks like a "moss" growing on the bark of the trees. It is light green and pliable, and looks a little like a fungus I've seen on dead logs or stumps. Just want to know if it will damage the trees. Thanks, PJ

Dogwoods often have lichens growing on the trunk. Its not harmful. If the trees appear otherwise healthy, I wouldn't worry about it.
