Hello,

Is a Dolmar 109 still worth to buy, do not mind to repair of worth the cost / cleaning.
50€, does not keep running....
Ik do not need a top performer, just a reliable saw that's not top heavy.

Spare parts availability?
Power to weight acceptable?

Thanks

A great little saw to be honest. Always good starters, very reliable, just not the quickest or lightest but good balance and handling. Give it a carb rebuild and fuel filter change. Depending on it's age ( they were made for years!) could have the earlier single arm brake flag and brake bands are hard to come by, but the later clutch cover along with all the brake flag and top cover fits. There are many parts available for these as most parts from the 109, 110, 111 and bigger cc 115 will fit. See attached parts list which help.

Also I forgot to mention, Makita 430 and 520 is a similar saw, just different colour so parts fit as well and sometime easier to find parts

Thanks,

What do you think?

Looks pretty clean, if it came with the bar and chain you stole it for 50$, they make great firewood saws, keep that size of bar on it and you'll be happy the way it cuts

Great buy! 5105 are a good saw. Ideally, if it hasn't already remove the catalyst, they run cooler, remove the carb adjust limiters and re-adjust the carb. The carbs can be tricky to set as the adjustment is quite sensitive, I like the set to approx 13,800 to 14,00rpm, it's not so easy to set them as the limited coil can kid you it's 4 stroking, I set them in wood with bar buried, then double check with a tach. Is it the model with 'easystart' ? If it is don't drop start it, it damages the starter mechanism. I like the easystart, but many people don't, it's a personal thing! Put an 'o' ring over the air filter mount to stop fines getting in
