Reading through old threads and still found no answer. A neighbor has a Dolmar 166 that I may be able to purchase, but the ignition is bad in it (so I'm told).
Has any one came up with a solution other than finding an old stock or used coil?
I haven't seen the saw yet, and I haven't seen any pictures to see how much room, where the original is mounted or what a replacement coil world have to be.
I'm wondering if I can machine a bracket and use a common coil from another application, of course getting the timeing right will take a bit of work but I'm willing to try. Dial in TDC and figure things out from there with a common coil, makeing my bracket adjustable.
