20141205_125349.jpg Howdy all! First post . So I bought this guy 3 years ago and was wondering what routine maintenance is needed/required. Any muffler inspection? Replace spark plug? Fuel filter? Thanks

Whatcha think?

If it ain't broke don't fix it but in my opinion pulling the limiter caps are a must on the 7300-7900 my 7900 was way to lean from the factory

Routine stuff would be the normal...air filter, fuel filter and spark plug, sprocket, etc.
Also, cleaning the screen on the muffler, changing clutch springs when they wear out.

20141217_081307.jpg Thanks guys for all the help. As far as chain goes, what you firewood burnin, hardwood splittin, back achin at the end o the day lumberjacks use? I purchased a spare Oregon 72LGX ..sound right? Thx

LGX is fine chain.

Like Randy already said, and I'll back up, the only routine maintenance you need is frequent tuning. All the time.

Go on the Oregon website and look at the differences. I don't remember off hand, so that's what I'd do.

Lpx and lgx have the same cutters. The LPX has an extra bumper link in the chain. Makes boring a little easier. I actually like the LPX a little better. The LPX is a little smoother. Both good chains.

Also I’ve had my 6400 for 5-6 years. Never done anything but blow out the filter and check the tune. Still running the same plug! Damn fine saws!
