I went to my local woodstove and fireplace dealer, and asked them about putting a fireplace extrodinare in so i would be more effectient as the fireplace now i can't damper down, it's either wide open or shut. he told me because it is a double wide can't do it, but i can put in a hud approved woodstove. now my uncle a few yrs ago put in a moduale house and he had one put in. my house was built in '01 and has 2x6 studs. is it because I don't have a basement? Or is he just covering his butt? now the woodstove place i went to is in NY. or would i be better off trying to get an outside wood burner and tie into my forced hot air duct work? or would i be better off running seperate duct work? or can i truly put in a better more effecient fireplace?
