If I know I need 114 drive links with a 9-pin, does that mean I need 112 with a 7-pin? Too lazy to spin the clutch off and change rims. I am sure there is an equation to answer my question, and I know it is some function of the diameter of the sprocket - help me out here guys.

Rather than adding a link machine the backside of the bar just so it clears. Its actually the prefered method as you want it close . On a 16" bar I can run either an 8 or 9 pin but not a 7 with the extra link.

With that many links I would guess that you can use the same bar and just adjust it. I use one pin different count rims on my 361 on the 16 to 28 inch bars (that is 60 to 91 links in 3/8 chain). I have never had to change the link counts or trim bars.

Of course with an inboard clutch changing rims is a breeze...
