Need help on the original metal flag brake handle. Wondering if there is a available brake band for the early clutch covers. Would really like to get my brake back in working shape.
Please post a link. I couldn't find anything when I was looking for this a year or so ago.Hi there
Yes they are available aftermarket
501830201 is the part number I just ordered three of them from France
I previously ordered them from the UK but the company is no longer trading
For me the original chain brake is a must

I just noticed where you're located. I don't need one at the moment and will try to buy from this company if I do.https://www.jardi-pieces.com/freina...5018302-01-501-83-02-01-501830201-830201.html

What is needed to be done to convert to newer brake and cover? If decide to go this route. Thank you!I just noticed where you're located. I don't need one at the moment and will try to buy from this company if I do.
If his saw was made in the first three years this might now fit anyway. The OP might be better off to convert his saw to the newer plastic handle.
So newer assembly should bolt right upI reckon you buy the whole assembly for a later model saw.
They're available through the aftermarket but I can't comment on the quality of those because I've never tried one.
That's a shame you can't pick up a brake band easily for these saws. Alot of them are still around. Like the looks of the metal hand guard.Yes the new aftermarket ones bolt straight on and they work
But they are not great quality
