Sorry I have a 041 farmboss I just got. Not familiar with it yet. It’s way slower than my Huskys, I bought four stihls to have in my collection.

I restore garden tractors too and every scored cylinder has a see through rotted air cleaner.

I think it ate something more metallic than wood dust based, carb throat was not full of fines that you might expect when fine particles bypass the filtration system.
 
So, finally found an old stock OEM piston ring for this old girl.
Put her back together this morning, even reused that scored up piston- cleaned the scoring up a bit and figured it is below the compression zone.
Just waiting for it to "set and cure"before firing her back up again. Compression off the rope feels nasty though!
