Female osage orange/ no mo apples, please

So, I have a series of osage trees lining the west side of my driveway and house. A few, one definitely, is/are female. Said female hangs 100 apples directly above my metal roofed wood shed. You know where this is going, so I ask the question, Is It Possible to Sterilize the tree without killing it? The trees are between 70 and 90 years old with 18 to 24" bases and about 40 to 45' tall.

Putting a new roof on the shed would be easier cheaper and more successful than anything out there.

Ethephon will probably work. Are you worried about damage or just the sound of booming fruit at 2 am?

If it comes to removal, you might contact some guitar mfgs. Hedge makes great tonewood but is hard to find logs large and clear enough to make quartersawn sets.
