i have just aquired a mac 335 saw with a type 91 52 drive links,3/8" pitch and 050" groove width. what size round file should i buy to sharpen it? the chain is an oregon 91VJ N052X. thanks in advance

Hello Mav, just as an afterthought, I'd be using a P# 91Vjnoyesfookyou.

Just kiddin', but I'd try a 7/32nd or 13/64ths file.

For Oregon 91 (low-profile 3/8"), I believe 5/32" is the right size, as Scottr said....;)

7/32" and 13/64" is for full size (ordinary) 3/8" chain.
 
cheers guys,, hand filed the chain with the 5/32 ,, and from the outside in after reading other threads on the subject , and wow like a hot knife through butter. will now buy a guide for it too see if i can get it better. many thanks again for the advice
