I have had these sitting here for a bit, a Poulan 4200 and a Dolmar 133. I had the parts for the 4200 and wanted to do this saw for Chris/Cbfarmall and I just got the pieces to finish the Dolmar.

Chris and I made plans to get these two done today and we did. Didnt get to do much else but we did get done what we started out to do.

I didnt get many pictures took of the rebuilds but the 4200 needed a slightly scored top end fixed and it got all new seals, carb rebuild, fuel and oil lines etc. It runs really really well. We tried it out with a 28" bar with full comp, LGX and it really walked the dog in a piece of oak. It really was in the same time frame as the 6 cube saws we tried out a few weeks back.

The Dolmar was a mess and it got a good used 143 crankcase, crank, new piston, rings, carb rebuild, lines etc. It runs really well also. It needs a couple little things yet as I would like to find a better recoil for it. I need to pull the muffler back off and fab up the missing bracket that bolts to the case and I need to find the rubber carb screw grommet for it and a good set of original dogs.

We tried it out in the same piece of Oak with a 25" bar with LGX as well. I was surprised at the DL count on this as a 84DL chain was 2 links too short.

Here are a couple of pictures.

A little horse-trading and Mark made the 4200 mine and I'm proud to have it. Though, I have to say, the 133 seemed to suck into wood and pull like hell. Rather fun working on the two.

Thanks for the enjoyment of the videos Mark and Chris! Me likes videos of the older saws!!

So Mark,
What kind of horse did you end up with???
I've always been partial to a Buckskin myself!
Looks like cbfarmall has yet ANOTHER killer saw in his collection.
Congratulations Chris!
Seems like the 4200 pulls almost as strong as the Dolmar.:msp_ohmy:

Mike

Maybe stronger, I swear!

Looking good guys. I need to get off my A$$ and finish my 4200 restoration.

You still got 2 weeks bucko!

Get moving! :hmm3grin2orange:

Well, damn. I was expecting to see a couple of Mini Macs in action.

Nice saws, guys. Mark, thanks for the vids .

Mini Macs, yeah right :ices_rofl:

What you been smokin?

Nice saws and nice work guys. Poulan and Dolmar, my 2 favorites.

Well at least you listed them in the right order.

I just got this Dolmar to see what there all about. Not sure what I think of it yet. Its sturdy and I'm sure its a good saw but I just didnt care about a few things the way it was put together. Not really bad things just different. It seems to be a good runner for sure and it had only ran just a few minutes before the cut video, so the rings cant be close to seated yet.

Thing is, did you see the 4200 in that wood with a 28" on it? That thing will hang with most modern 70cc saws.

Wife got me a new phone, still can reply with quote! Yeah, that 4200 is awesome, I just don't see the for sale around here. I think guys who have them won't give them up! As far as the Dolmars go, I based that off my PS540. It is an impressive saw for it's class, it's a new saw and I'm comparing it toy cousins 290fb and bils 460 rancher, which isn't really fair but it was actually priced lower than both those saws. I'm going to be working on a sachs dolmar 112 (silver and black) that saw is an '86 and might be comparable to a 3400 or pp330. Heavier than the 330 tho I think

Winston Red 100s. Why, are you offering something more 'interesting?' ;)
I hear a lot of stories about the "cash crops" :crazy1: that y'all grow out in the country.

Model Profile: 4200

Yeah the cash crops used to be big around here, I have not heard much about it for a long time though.....

The day you see me with a Mini Mac again will be the day you need to call the men in the white coats to come a pick me up. :hmm3grin2orange:
