First try at cleaning chimney

So our new house has a fireplace and a wood burning insert.
This year I decide to clean the chimney myself.
I get started and find out the chimney has a 90 degree turn just 8 feet down.
How dumb could the builder be?
Our local supply shops only carry standard fiberglass poles.
Guess I will have to order a flexible rod and finish the cleaning from inside the house. What a pain.

I would get a fish tape and snake it through the pipe from either the top or bottem. Then hook your brush to it and pull it back through. Done..
