I just saw the prices of some wood at our local Lowe's store.
They want $2.20 a board foot for pressure treated fence boards.
The Cedar ones are $3.80 a board foot.
I buy rough cut Eastern White Pine boards at 6/4 for .72 cents a board foot from a local Amish miller.

Here in Australia the cheapest treated fence boards (from a big box hardware Lowes equivalent) cost ~US$1 a bdft.
Pretty ordinary (ie knotty) cypress pine fence boards are around US$4 a bdft
Dressed (untreated pine) pine costs almost double this.
Hardwood is a lot more expensive, 2.25" x 1.5 " dressed is $14 a bdft.

Our little mill stays covered up. I think everyone that normally uses Lowes and Home Depot has been coming here for the last year.

Bob that's crazy pricing.
Time for me to buy a small bandsaw mill I guess. I've got the CSM already.
Guess I'll start dropping hints to the Wife about how my retirement is coming up and how I need something to do after 55(at the same time looking at some of the small mills for sale).
I have some room for one, but not a lot.
Maybe a Woodland Mills small one.
