Good price for used Stihl 026?

A Stihl 026 is listed in a local want ad. What is a reasonable asking price for a Stihl 026? How much should I offer? There is an attached pic.

The ad itself is kind of a laugh. A 26" B&C on an 026? I don't think so. More likely a 16" B&C and a typo.

That is probably a decent price if the saw runs out well and nothing is missing or broken.

yeah that is about a normal price.

I paid $225 for an 026 from a dealer who had gone through the saw and had replaced the air filter, fuel filter and chain...and I got a 30-day warranty. The saw was in good (not great) physical condition.

i payed 300 for mine that had been used very little its in like new shape.

i figured i saved some over a new one and its basicaly almost unused

I sell rebuilt (New P & C, rebuilt carb, boot, impluse, seals) for $300-325. Units that require very little (seal or rebuild carb) normally ~$250'ish.

If that saw has good compression, everything is there, and the piston looks clean, thats a good price. Make sure to take your compression gauge and a T-27 with you.

Its probably no accident the 026 and 034 have withstood the test of time.
