Well I found an ad on Facebook where a guy was selling a 372xp w/24" bar. He was asking 500$. It's a well used saw but in good shape. It had been rebuilt at the local husqvarna shop a while back with a Mahle piston and cylinder. Only thing it's missing is the inner felling dog. Compression came out at 140-150.

He also had a 55 rancher with a 20" bar. It's in good shape but he said he thinks it has an air leak. After some back and forth negotiating I ended up with both saws. Also came with a brand new 28" bar and a bunch of newer chains. 250$ cash plus some misc stuff. I ended up into the deal for 300$.

I have the 372 in pieces now and will clean everything up, and do some work on the cylinder. I will also modify the muffler while I have it apart. I miss my last 372 that I sold so I plan on keeping this one.

The 55 I will get to it shortly and probably flip it.

I got the 372 all torn down today and I plan on blasting it with hot water and degreaser tomorrow. It should clean up nicely.

I'll take more tomorrow.

Baileys was having a sale for the full wrap handle, plus the large felling spikes for $35... their shipping is high, but that's still really cheap.

Cleaned them up and I noticed the plastic was faded quite bad. I found new chinaman top cover for cheap but I cannot find a cheap air filter cover. I found all sorts of one's for the short filter. Is there any cheap tall covers? Or a way to refurbished these?

Showing out of stock. I'll price check at the husqvarna shop just too see.

Found a youtube movie where a guy used 60%paint thinner and 40% BLO. It shinned up the plastic really well. I may try that first.

Well I decided to try the paint thinner and BLO. While it doesn't work miracles it did help quite a bit. I think for now I'll run them as is and if later down the road I decide to swap them out I will.

I removed the cylinder today and cleaned up the transfer ports. I also bored out the exhaust a little. I also ran a hone down the cylinder to add some cross hatching. I modded the muffler by cutting a square hole in the front of it along with its mounting bracket. Now I need to get a new exhaust gasket and put it back together.
