I'm really surprised this hasn't been shut down yet. As only 2 or 3 of the listed dealers are sponsors the rest are getting free advertising and I don't think Darin likes anyone getting anything free. Unless of course he's trolling the thread for leads to sell sponsorships too mow that he jas elminated income from saw builders.

Well I hope it can stay. I think it could be a great resource especially for those that would rather get their saw running more locally. I do not want to take away from any of the sponsors. I like using them like @fordf150 for things I can fix on my own but if the problem is over my head I know it can be very hard and very expensive to find a good dealer.

Lists like this dont bother me at all as a paying sponsor. i exist because of the lack of good local dealers. If there are quality local dealers guys should use them when possible even if it means paying a bit more. Box stores have been the big killer of local guys and i can speak from experience on that one....I lost 50-75 trimmer/blower sales the first year that Rural King came in and took on Echo. Get plenty of the Lowes husky saws coming in for repair and a few Jonsereds from the local TSC. imagine the small businesses that would be supported if people would just buy off a dealer instead of the box stores. One of our best local Stihl dealers is talking about getting out of the small engine sales because Rural king is now taking on Stihl and he figures it is going to cut into his sales too much to remain profitable.

yes.

here is my list of local stihl dealers plus there are 2 more that arent listed on the dealer locator yet. i can be at every one of those dealers in 25 minutes or so and only 1 of them is worth going to....the rest are jsut saw sales centers..no real parts inventory or knowledgeable staff. Not sure what rural king will be like or the other new place that is going in since they havent officially taken on stihl yet
