In South Florida up to Carolinas over to Texas, many types of palms need trimming, as they hold on to older dry fronds which can be fire hazard near homes-building etc. These palms, if you need a list of species, I'm happy to provide those which need trimming. One type is Sabal palmetto (Cabbage palms) Florida State tree, native of South North America, is one most people sadly trim wrong. Fronds left after trimming should go from 9 o'clock all the way up to 12 over to 3 o'clock, usually these are all green, I have seen healthier palms which have 7 o'clock to 1 o'clock and at times which are green, we have retained them, but its ok to trim to 9 -3 o'clock. Remove seed pods after flowers, we always leave flowers till they are done, many species Bee's & pollinator's need this food, respect nature. Never cut more as this will damage palms, not right away but eventually palm will become damaged. No more Rooster tail trimmings, its unsightly, damaging palms and offers no protection against high winds. Think logically as plants do grow with logic as all of nature does. We need to be professionals to be on same page, every situation is different, never exactly the same, but if you apply logic you can over come all situations. Thank you for reading
