I have, what I believe to be a swamp Maple tree in my yard. There seems to be a "PASTEL GREEN" colored fungus on the tree. This fungus also seems to be on the roof of my house. Will this fungus cause problems for the tree or plants/flowers/grass/etc... around it?

You have a non-destructive lichen attached to the surface of the tree. It is a fungus-algae hybrid organism. It will do no harm to your tree.

There is a greater risk to your roof (the fact that is growing there shows that it does not feed on the tree.) As the clumps fall off they can pull the stone coating off the shingle. A spray with a light bleach solution will take care of it. Or they sell mineral solutions to spray.
