Green wood and creosote...

I burn only Australian Hardwood & never burn green. Only have to use a couple of bits of kindling to start the fire & the glass door never needs cleaning
Basically I cut the big trees into billets, leave em 2 years then in the spring split & stack the wood into the woodshed. This gives the split stuff a final chance to dry out in the woodshed over summer ready for the following winter. This system means that I am running 3 years ahead with my supply. Damaged my hand a few years ago but because I was so far ahead with my wood supply it didnt matter that I couldn't get wood for a year.

My father once taught me that if you have to allocate time for a task you might as well use the time early on because you are still going to use it anyway even if you wait till the last minute. Less stress to work ahead I reckon.
