We have 5 Pine's left on our property, 2 are dying (beetle kill) and I hate Pine trees. The property is already about 2/3 Aspen, all natural growth. When (no if) I drop the last Pine's what is the average growth rate for the Aspen's?

if its pine wilt in the pines remove all wood and limbs and stumps immediatly. if not you could lose the rest soon. the biggest carrier of the pine wilt nematode is the pine sawyer beetle. the beetle visits your tree and spreads the nematode, which then kills your tree. now this is why its spreading so rapidly. the pine sawyer beetle has a larvae to death span of 45 days. it lays its eggs in dead pines! the larvae get the nematode, and the process is completed.

so get rid of all that old pine.

as for the aspens.... im to lazy to look it up after the pine wilt speech lol. someone else will chime in im sure
