I'm helping outfit a retired female friend with a Stihl MSA 160 battery powered chainsaw. It is a very good choice given her needs. The chain is 1/4" and she is not a confident filer so I'm looking for a file guide to help her keep the chain sharp. I see both 5/32" and 1/8" files recommended for the 1/4" chain on the saw. The 1/8" looks like a better fit for those tiny little teeth but I can't locate any guides that use that size file. A 5/32" file won't even fit easily into the new chain and I'm concerned it will not produce a good profile, yet many sources recommend 5/32" for both 1/4" and 3/8LP and guides for that size file are readily available.
Suggestions?

I use 5/32 for 1/4 chain. Works fine for me!! 20-25% of the file should actually be above the cutter top plate when filing.
