Tim Funke, was my next door neighbor at OCS and I worked with him at 2/8. I was General Christmas's driver at Pendelton for a weekend during a Col Usher drill right after the LA riots. We took over the LAPD AirStation and they forgot food..........MRE''s. The General handed me his credit card and told me to go to the McDonald's across the street to buy lunch for 600 marines, it took a while but I got it done.
