I purchased a saw that was labeled as a MS 460 however I have my doubts. The cover says MS 460 but the sticker on the handle is damaged and I can read MS ?40. The serial number is 163813082. Is it a 460 or 440?
Thanks

Thanks for the info.
Were there two generations of MS 460? None of the part numbers on the saw match my parts catalog. I will "assume" that I have a first generation saw and a second generation parts catalog.
Where can I find a first generation parts catalog?

Thanks again

How in the frik?! What the??!?!???!!!??

You're good dude. You're good. :)

:greenchainsaw:

It's easy I log into the Stihl warranty website, type in the serial number, and it will tell me if it's been registered, and who it was registered to along with address and date of purchase. That's if the original selling dealership was doing they're job. Along with that it will come up with what model that serial number is connected to. Remember Woodchucker, I do all of the 2 stroke repairs and warranty submissions at a Stihl shop.
