Hello All,

Trying to identify the chain on my father's McCullogh G-70 with a bow bar. It looks to be 1/2 pitch. It has Poulan stamped on the tie straps and "10" on the drive links so maybe that will help identify gauge. The bow has 86858 stamped into it but info on the bar that is extra credit. :)

I know the chain is not sharp and could use some love. Saw runs great and has MANY bucking hours on it. I hope to inherit it and keep it in the wood.

Thanks in advance,
CH

Well the number 10 on the drive links is a dead giveaway to Oregon 1/2'' pitch .063 gauge chain.. I assume they made it for Poulan. You would be best served by getting a .404 gear and new chain. They will cost you less than finding a 1/2' chain.

I fully respect your desire to maintain the saw and I will help you as much as I can.
