Hi,

I have a 24” and 36” bar that I received when buying a used 3120XP. I think both are Husqvarna (the 36” came in a Husqvarna cardboard sheath), but neither has a company logo or any naming on the bar itself.

The 24” bar had a chain already on it, wrapped in plastic. I’d like to understand if these bars are the correct tail mount for my 3120XP or if they’re unusable. I’ve already changed out the .404” rim sprocket to a 3/8” to accommodate the different pitch.

Is there a way to tell the type of mount that these bars have? (K095 vs D009)

Thanks in advance for any help!

There's 2 tail mounts currently for modern Husqvarna saws large and small , a small will not align with the oil port of the 3120xp .
Basically if its a husqvarna bar that physically fits that saw you are good to go.
Ah, I think I’m out of luck then. When I tried to mount the 24” bar and chain, I can’t get the chain looped around the end of the bar sprocket and the bar is as far back as it will go on the studs. Looks like I got a small mount. I don’t have a chain for the 36” right now, but I wasn’t sure if Husqvarna made a 36” in the small mount. Hopefully that will be the correct one once I get a chain.

Thanks for your help!

Ok so don't confuse chains with bars, if the bar physically fits and you can see where the oil port lines up with the oil slot on the bar pad your good.
I customize chain length all the time, plus sprocket distances don't always interchange even with the same family of saws.
For instance the chain may have been for a 372xp but the distance from the bar stud to sprocket is farther on the 3120?

The small mount bars won’t fit the large mount saws. The adjuster hole doesn’t line up.
That being said, here is a small mount husky 24” bar (which has the same numbers as your 24” bar) next to a Tsumura large mount bar.C88E649B-B2BA-4D41-B3ED-2EB8E08F621F.jpeg

Yep, the 24” I have is a small mount. I see the difference now between the two bars. Here are some more pictures of me trying to get it on the saw. Thanks for the info! Looks like the previous owner got confused with what bar was for what saw. Oh well, getting a 36” bar in the bargain was worth it.
