Help ID'ing this wood

Was grabbing a piece of wood yesterday and came across a piece that looked like pine.

I say popple also as once popple gets some size to it the bark looks the same and it aslo has those streaks thru it.

Sorry but definitely not sassafras neither the bark or wood look like sassafras. I'm going with the popular choice of popple.
