Help ! Max RPM on 051 sthil chainsaw

Hi , this is my first post and I need some advice. If anyone can help I am trying to find out the maximum RPM to set my Stihl 051 saw and if the chain is to be fitted or not when tuning to the max rpm, hope someone can help

yes but a bar and chain on it before attempting to adjust the carb as for rpm numbers i know it is nothing like the sws of today my mac 1-43 is probably comprarable and it maxes out at 6800 rpm stihl might be a bit more but i am unsure of exact numbers never try a modern saws numbers as she will seize long before you reach 13500 rpm

It's about 10,500... but... it has a rev limiting control valve that dumps rich gas into the intake so you cannot tune it by "ear" easily. Just set it about 1 turn out and forget it.. or make really minor adjustments from there and time your performance in the wood (big wood...).
