I've been running an aftermarket PTO side bearing in my rebuilt 046 for two years now, and the saw has been run hard on a full-time snag-falling/hazard tree contract on Federal lands. I haven't had an issue with it yet and I've abused the saw thoroughly. I run Nachi bearings in the PTO side of my Stihls and in both sides of my Husqvarnas/Jonsereds. The Nachi bearings made in Japan are extremely high quality. Another great player in generic-sized bearings is SNR.

I'm interested in the source for the 046 PTO bearing. You can send that to me by PM if you feel it is necessary.

The 066/660 bearings that I sell are the exact bearing HL Supply sells. The PTO side is an OEM bearing and the flywheel side is a generic bearing from any bearing supply house.
